The specialty of internal medicine focuses on the care and treatment of adults. Beginning with individuals in their teenage years and progressing through old age. The philosophy of our practice places emphasis on personal and preventative medicine with the detection and modification of factors leading to and causing illness such as cancers of the colon, breast and prostate.

We urge and aid our patients in taking a proactive, responsible approach to their own health care issues with a slant toward a holistic way of treatment whenever possible. We strongly recognize the benefits that good, sound, nutritional therapy promotes. In conjunction with in-depth patient interview and a regime of regularly scheduled comprehensive physical exams, we are often able to prevent, or at best head off, possible medical problems.

We are fortunate in our practice to be involved in a variety of clinical trials available to us by pharmaceutical companies offering treatment options and medications not currently on the market. Staying on this ‘cutting edge’ of research is one way we are able to bring treatment options to our patients. Without our involvement, these treatments and experimental medications would not be available to our patients. We are grateful and feel fortunate in providing these services to our patients.

Our board-certified physicians are trained in dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of adult medical problems; concerning and stemming from:

Adult immunization

Hematologic disorders

Depression/Mental
health

Diabetes

Respiratory disorders

Heart disease

HIV/AIDS

Infections

Menopause & Andropause

Obesity

Gastrointestinal disorders

Rheumatologic disorders

Endocrine diseases

In providing total health care services for our patients requiring a subspecialist (e.g. an oncologist, cardiologist, dermatologist) or surgeon, our patients are only referred to those doctors we deem to be qualified in their field and that have a proven track record, having earned our trust over the years. We do however continue to monitor your care and progress during these times, in our efforts to provide a consistent chain of treatment and subsequent follow-up. You can be assured that our team approach to your health care insures you the highest level of medical treatment.

Finally, our practice embraces the diversity of our patients. Knowing that each patient is unique, we strive on every level to provide that patient with the specialized, individual attention they deserve.
